ABOUT

Ernesto Garcia Sánchez’s (b. 1989, Havana, Cuba) explorations of form and image center around formal simplicity, and the philosophical connotations arising from visual immediacy. Sánchez’s structural paintings suggest new relationships between the elements of the pictorial medium, synthesizing pigmentation in its simplest form.

Sánchez is a graduate of the Instituto Superior de Arte (ISA), Havana (2015), and the Fine Arts Academy ‘San Alejandro’ (2009). His work has most recently been exhibited in Merida Yucatan, Mexico (‘Polimorfos’, 2021), at the Arsenal Habana, Havana, and at Mindy Solomon Gallery, Miami. Sánchez is also engaged in arts education, and has held multiple workshops for children in Havana, in Merida Yucatan, Mexico, and as part of the residence island of Holbox, Mexico, amongst others.

Sánchez lives and works in Merida Yucatan.
