Yaily Martínez’s (b. 1990, Havana, Cuba) multi-disciplinary practice spans sculpture, drawings and installations. With an emotional and intuitive charge, she explores the relationships and tensions between work processes, matter, form and space. Her work uses forces emanating from our natural environment, as a means to better understand human behaviour, both on a social and individual level.

Martínez is a graduate of the Instituto Superior de Arte (ISA), Cuba (2021), and the Provincial Academy of Art of Cienfuegos, Benny Moré (2009). Her work has been recently exhibited at Galería El Apartamento, Havana (2022), in the 14th Havana Biennial (2022), and the Museo del Jade y la Cultura Precolombina, San José (2021).

Martínez lives and works in Havana.
