The gallery is proud to announce that on 20 January 2022 we will present 'The People Who Came From The Sea', a duo exhibition by Eliyah Mesayer (b.1987) and Galvin Harrison (b.1956) + T.N.G. (The Next Generation).
Highlighting both artists' individual practices as well as their collaborative social projects, such as T.N.G Project and the Mesayer Foundation, the exhibition aims to provide a platform for the two artists' nuanced and co-operative work to-date.
United by a shared interest to address systemic problems within current models of citizenship, the foundation of Mesayer and Harrison's collaborative aesthetic is the Illiyeen Project, a conceptual nation for stateless people proposed as an alternative to the social structures that leave excluded people in a position of unique precarity.
'The People Who Came From The Sea' will mark the first exhibition by either artist with Brigade, we look forward to sharing more with you soon.
